After last weeks wash out I've put Penzance back in the Calendar for tomorrow.
Yes, Dean - perhaps I should change my 'handle' to Richard 753?

Following on from this evening's meeting, there will be a meeting at Kath's house on 6 August for all those intending to enter the Carnival. Meeting starts at 6.30 pm, prompt. This year's theme is "The Falmouth Stealers". Nothing to do with Reynolds tubing, Richard, but you are still expected to be there.
Kath wants to know who is interested in going in the Carnival on 11th August, details on our entry at the meeting on Thursday.
Le Tour: Watched the brilliant Alpine Stage 11 between Albertville and La Rosiere Espace San Bernardo. More to the point โ with the Froome-obsessed media coverage, especially the BBC โ what a joy to see Geraint Thomasโ superb win: cracking viewing watching him conquering everyone in such style. To be the virtual Yellow Jersey holder, and then to confirm it with such a striking and impressive win. Congratulations to that man โ probably the best stage win in a Grand Tour I have ever seen! R75
Thanks Simon for a really excellent Pathfinder - many new lanes ridden, having not been in that area for many years. The 'hill from hell' just before St Mabyn was 'interesting'! Great day out enjoyed by all. R75
Fantastic Pathfinder today......wow!
Lovely scenery, great company, a beautiful coffe stop and wonderful pub garden lunch.
Thank you for organising a fabulous day out for the seventeen Wheelers who made the effort to cycle or travel to Noth Cornwall.
Well done to the new โslimโ Raymondo who must have ridden over 120 miles!

I'm leaving from Tresillian lay by about the same time.
Anyone riding to Simonโs Pathfinder weโll be leaving from the Norway Inn at 8am.
I'll be starting from Tresillian layby just past Mercedes garage on Sunday to go to Simon's pathfinder. 7.45am it's about 23 miles on the direct route if anyone wants to join in. Can offer lift for one.
Phil
What's 11 miles Chris?
Ok. Fair enough but is only 11 miles. We've been further on a Wednesday
Yes, if you leave at 5.
8.30. Wow that's late.... only leaves an hour of daylight as leeway....
Met Matt at 5 o'clock last night and had a brisk ride to St Keverne and the Three Tuns. Really nice pub with good beer. Only a pint and a half and a brisk ride home but still not back until 8:30. Possibly a bit too far for a Wednesday ride.
Not sure if I'll be out tonight but The Red Lion Mawnan Smith is a closer alternative...............................
Great news about your friends kittens Robin, hope they are all well !!
I would like to go out on Wednesday evening, weather permitting, to enjoy what I can imagine will be some fairly quiet roads.
My plan in the past has been to drive part of the way so that it's not so far to get back but had the venue definitely changed? I'll plan to start from HQ see who is there and head off.
Pub ride to St Keverne. For any dinosaurs out there who don't use Facebook - personally I can't live without it - I got a notification at three o'clock this morning from an old school friend - well not really that much of a friend - but they found me on facebook and let me know that their cat had just had kittens. Brilliant! Best bit of news I've had in the middle of the night for ages. Anyhow, if you don't do facebook, you might not have seen that it has been "suggested" that the pub ride has been postponed because of the footy. Suits me as I have an early start on Thursday. I'm going to go to The Three Tuns tomorrow night instead - after a ride with Matt Dunisbar who is back in Falmouth for a while.
Of course, you could go to the Three Tuns on Wednesday - I'm sure they'll have a telly.
Looking sunny on Sunday. St Mawes anyone?
The Lizard supper is on Friday July 27, at Polpeor cafe on the Lizard point. You must be there by 6.30pm as the cafe closes early. Contact Steve Lightfoot to book. stephen020@btinternet.com
