The meeting was well attended, and there were apologies from Phil S, Steve and Jill L, Sarah, Jan, Margaret and Martyn, and Mike C.
Past Events:
July10th – Martyn’s 200 and 300k Audax took place – Robin did the 300k and Phil C, the 200k. Also on that day was the Red river Blue Sea 100k, and the 50k Peter’s Point. Ten Wheelers took part, including Sarah who took and extra long route!
July 17th – The Coast and Clay sportive in aid of CHC. There were fewer entries this year, and it was quite hot and very windy. Damien, Christine, and Jan represented the club, in the 44ml and 70ml routes.
July 23rd – Rob, Andy Blake, and visitor to FWs, Luca, rode part of the 400k Tour of Cornwall, which was devised originally by Simon. It involves three ferry crossings to complete the ride!
Future Events:
August 3rd, Wednesday, Dean will be taking part in the F&P Cycling Campaign social ride from the Moor at 1830. It encourages everyone to cycle, and all are welcome.
August 7th – Robin will be riding the London -Edinburgh – London Audax, longer this year at 1,500k. There are 3, 200 entrants and Robin hopes to complete the route in100 hours.
August 25th meeting – Adrian Mitchell will read a passage from ‘The escape Artist’, a book he really enjoyed.
Sept. 25th – Kath and Sheila will lead a Pathfinder – more details next month.
Pilates with Jan provisionally starts on Wednesday October 5th, TBC
Oct 13th – Richard will be setting a quiz for the club. We hope to have pasties.

Amanda’s Guidelines for Group Rides and Pathfinders have gone out by email to all members – please make time to read them.
Adrian M has made new ‘Golden Spokes’ for the end of year awards. They are different from the old ones and very elegant… Thanks, Adrian!
The new caps have been ordered and should be here in three weeks. £15 each.
The Pub Rides have been going well – last week there were four riders plus a visitor.
The meeting finished with a discussion on road safety for cyclists, Robin told us about his video of dangerous driving, and Richard recounted many incidents of rude drivers who yell at you. A never ending topic!
With no other business, the meeting closed at 8.45pm.
