Cold Feet To Perranporth, and back.

The weather wasn’t looking good for Sunday’s ride, it was a cold northern wind with the possibility of showers. I didn’t expect to see so many turn up at HQ. We broke into 2 groups one going to Perranporth and the other slower group going in the direction of Porthleven.  So heading off to Perranporth we’re 10 cycles with 11 cyclists, you can work that out yourselves. We headed up Treluswell and turned off to head across to Carclew. We arrived at Devoran roundabout and decided to break into two separate groups. The A team headed off towards Bissoe with B team following behind.  Due to Damian not knowing the way and being in front he missed the turning to Dangerous Crossing  instead carrying on to the Chasewater turn. I don’t think the B team followed!

So on to Chasewater and Blackwater, right at the ATV crossroads towards Mithian. Straight forward ride to Perranporth and the Stepping Stones, arriving ahead of team B. They duly arrived followed by Robin and the long riders.

We were treated to the usual high quality service but eventually had to leave. The A Team headed up the valley and decided to continue to St Agnes. Then onto Porthtowan and down Cambrose Hill where the cold got to use and we headed back to Redruth, Damians favourite town! As we came to the top of Lanner Hill some of the B Team appeared from Sandy Lane! From there it was the usual way home to a warm shower and cup of tea.

A team – Danny, Amanda, Damian, Sylvia, Phil1

B team – Phil3, Margaret and Martyn, Sarah, Dave and Dave.

46 miles for me.
