Day 3

Ryan and Lucas. Col de Femenia

It’s always a joy to be in the presence of cycling royalty. Did I ever tell you that I rode with Chris Boardman……..

Yesterday we were fortunate enough to meet up with, not only Ryan, but his son Lucas. Many of you will remember Ryan from his time at Port Pendennis as the skipper of a luxury yacht but with a need to be out on his bike. Ryan and his family live in Palma, Majorca and Ryan was able to arrange his leave to coincide with our visit. His 10yr old son is a bit of a talent on a bike. He recently gave up football in preference to riding the indoor velodrome in Palma and was more than happy to join us on our 45 mile ride. We finished the day climbing the Col de Fermania before descending to Caimari for a beer. Sadly Ryan had a call from his wife and had to disappear before any of us got Lucas’s autograph. I think this is going to be very expensive in years to come.
