The launch of the club’s new “introductory ride” was a great success, with eleven riders joining us for a short ride to the Cornish Barrista at Halvasso. An equal number of club members turned out to help and to chat with what we hope could be potential new members. Taking the route out via Budock and returning via Union Corner, Mr Garmin suggested we had done 12 miles, and for some that had been enough on their first group ride. The weather helped, remaining cooler on the ride out and then switching on the sun to allow us to sit outside and enjoy the screams of kids hurtling down the zip wire over the quarry. The “newbies”included a few former members and hopefully we can entice them back into the flock. There were no mechanicals to deal with but a few mentioned the possibility of us arranging a “how to deal with the puncture fairy” session. Volunteers give your name to Ian. Perhaps there could be a quick demonstration on changing a tube at the cafe stop or before the ride commenced.
