Ride Report Sunday 23rd October

Overcast with sunny intervals rain later! Not a promising forecast but then this is Cornwall and we have been spoilt this summer. Ten wheelers turned up at HQ – Sheila, Phil1, Trevor C, Ian, Robin, Phil4, Amanda, Colin, Ben and yours truly.
Ian suggested a ride to Via Ferrata, do you think we are fit enough, that’s a long way, we have to go up a hill, etc, etc, all the usual inane banter. Hang on, says Ian we can go via Gweek, Cury, Culdrose, Coverack Bridges, Releath, Black rock, thus giving options to cut it short if rain comes in early. What a good idea no-one said but off we went. Trevor C was so impressed he turned of at Halvasso turn to head for Stithians. Amanda was excited as she was going to film us with her GoPro or whatever piece of equipment she has (Cecil B De’mille would be impressed). Big problem it kept turning itself off; that’s the joy of technology. So no make-up pressed shorts or clean bikes was needed, there is always another day.
We made to Via Ferrata where we were greeted by Steve Lightfoot who was just arranging for our evening out!! let us know if you can join us as we need twenty minimum. During our debrief or was it mindless chatter! Surely not whatever next, Mike Capone and his good lady arrived – nice to see them (to see them, nice. Ed). It then started to really rain, proper rain with great big drops so a second coffee was in order.
It didn’t stop so we continued our separate ways home.
40 odd miles for me
