OGIL ‘s find a spare HUB.

Today’s destination was decided before anyone left home by Kath. It was to be the Hub at Portreath as it was under new management and therefore the experience should be much better than before.
I joined Kath and Dean at the missing phone box and then Keith, Fred, Simon and Phil 3 at the other place. As there was no need for a discussion over our destination we could leave promptly but we didn’t as Phil had a problem with his front mech to sort out first. Off we eventually went only for Phil’s chain to come off. All was sorted out and we all met at the top of Halvasso where Jan and Ian were waiting.
Off to Crane Garage and into Stithians was the start of Ian’s route today. Left at the crossroads and up to Penhalvean and on through Four Lanes. Then down hill turning left to Treskillard, picking up an old Audax route to Beacon and Barripper. Penponds next and then Coombe and out to the North Cliffs. The TT started gently but with a strong tail wind it was a chance to get a PB. All made it to the Hub which was quite busy, due to half term, and we had to scrabble around to get enough tables and chairs.
The menu seemed to be the same as before, everyone was satisfied with the quality and the service and we left after our usual mix of conversations.
A straightforward return route into Redruth via Sparnon Gate and across to Sithians dropping Jan and Simon on the way and Ian at Longdowns. Arriving home just before it started to rain after 42 miles. Another excellent ride.
