OGIL ride Wednesday 6th November

With our usual scribes, Dean (New Zealand) and Colin (Okehampton), away in foreign lands it’s left to me to continue the unbroken train of Ogil reports for this week’s ride.
Keith and Andrew were waiting as I arrived at the Other Place with Phil C. Paul followed closely behind and when we joined Jan up at the weighbridge we were just six.
The forecast showers held off as we made our way to Nine Maidens, through Bolenowe, Troon, Ramsgate and Barripper to West Camborne and down to Coombe. Then it was up the hill for the sprint along the North Cliffs before descending into Portreath, reasonably dry so far!
Jan had suggested we stop at The Hub but it was packed and we had our coffees, tea and food at the Atlantic Cafe instead. No problems with our order this time.
Talk included forthcoming tours, the Saracens rugby pay cap and spinning.
Suitably refreshed, we returned home by the usual route through Redruth and Stithians. The drizzle strengthened as we pedalled home. We said goodbye to Jan at Lanner and to Keith at Crane garage.
A pleasant enough ride….you never regret going!
44.7 miles for me
