Sorry to be difficult, but I will not be doing the Pathfinder this month - so if anyone wants to fill this slot, please feel free to do so. My planned one will now be submitted for 2020 - probably/hopefully in April or thereabouts.. R753
Minutes of September meeting now in the members area of the Forum.
40 riders have entered the 500k Audax that leaves Pendennis Castle at 9.00am tomorrow morning (Saturday). I am hoping to go and wave them off. I'm working In Penzance from 8 so won't be able to ride with them or go for breakfast but am happy to see them on their way.
Please accept my apologies for not being able to Chair the meeting this evening. The
meeting will be in Fred's capable hands and normal service will resume next Month.
It's getting cooler already so let Paula know if you want to order a Falmouth Wheelers long sleeve jersey this winter.
Apologies to Robin for my absence yesterdays Pathfinder . I unfortunately failed to read the message board and arrived at the usual meeting point only to discover that no one would arrive. I left Falmouth to attempt to find you all but was unable to do so.
Meet at the Norway Inn at 8:45 on Sunday for the ride to the start of the Pathfinder.
If you are able to join us on the 22nd for the Pathfinder and still haveโnt put your order in for lunch I would be grateful if you could do that today as it will make things a whole lot easier for the pub on what is already a busy day for them. The menu is on the website.
For any of those on the French trip who are still not sure theyโll make it we can phone those orders through on the Sunday morning. โ๏ธRobin
Congratulations to Janet Watson on coming 8th in age at the World 70.3 Ironman Championships in Nice this week. Jan puts her success down to training with the OGIL.
What is it about the Cornish and weather? I have already heard "my dear 'tis freezun" - and that was in August! R753
Perhaps you should tell the weather gods Richard, it certainly feels like Autumn not Summer outside.
It is not Autumn until the 21st September! I know it is supposed to be 'Meteorological' Autumn on the 1st September; but ignore those clowns at the Met Office - they can rarely forecast the weather correctly, and that is what they are paid a heck of a lot to do! R753
22nd September Pathfinder.
The lunch menu is now on the website and I will need to know what you are eating before next Wednesday as Gill and I are heading to France for a week and the pub needs the order well in advance.
(I'm afraid the cooked breakfast is not on the Sunday menu - I jumped the gun with that so, Fred and Richard, you will have to re order!)
Hoping you can all make it. Robin

A cyclists cafe, that cant serve cyclists?! https://www.cyclinguk.org/blog/velolife-not-my-back-yard
Just back from a brilliant eveningโs entertainment at Heartlands. Itโs on all week and thoroughly recommended. Georgie and fellow artistes performing incredible dances on wires high up above us. Stunning. Dean, thanks for the folding chair. Top tip - take a blanket or chair to sit on.
I'm sure many of the Ogils have met young Georgie - she rode Peter's Point 56km audax with us back in May. She would like to ride with us more often were it not for all the other activities she is involved in - not least as a dancer with the vertical dance company Yskynna. They are performing all this week at Heartlands

Gill and I are going tomorrow night.
IntoTR1 are looking for volunteers to help marshal the Falmouth Triathlon on Sunday 15 September. Marshals for both the run and bike sections are needed and for each volunteer they will make a generous donation to the club. Alternatively the marshal can have a free entry into another of the Tri Series events. You would need to attend for a briefing at 7.30 am on the day and it is all over by 11.15 am. Unfortunately I am only back from holiday that day so canโt help but if anyone is interested then please leave a comment here. I am sure most of us have taken part in an event that wouldnt happen if others didnโt come forward to help marshal. Perhaps your turn to pay back and usually great fun.
The Wednesday evening pub ride is going to the Ferryboat Inn this week. Itโs also the Falmouth Week Air Show so Iโm suggesting, for those that want to, to meet near the Gylly cafe at around 5:45/6:00 and then head off to the pub after weโve watched for a while. Weโll probably get a view of the planes most of the ride to the Helford!
Well done to everyone who took part in the Ride London 100, and special thanks to Paula and Richard who wrote about it. Thank goodness they had better weather this year. We have been promised more photos in the Gallery - please can we see them soon!
