Get yourself seen, but don't wear anything on your head. How times have changed.... Oh... and the racist moment at 12 seconds. Video courtesy of Dean.

A message from our favourite couple

Auntie Gill and I would like to thank everyone who came to support our charity weekend. It was a bit chaotic and we apologise to those at the back of the queue who had a bit of a wait. It was great to see you all.

Over the weekend with your help we made over £700 .It has been great to have known a lot of you for many years and we will  certainly miss you. Thanks once again,
All the best,
Trevor & Auntie Gill

OGIL ride report, Wednesday 9 October‏
Oct 10, 2013, 10:47 am

With the demise of the Wednesday evening rides, Solo rejoined the OGIL today. Having said that he needed to be back by 1, I suggested that he chose the destination but his choice of Trebah was quietly ignored and it was towards Tehidy that we set off, Jim joining us near Lamanva. The usual route to Tehidy seems to be clockwise, via Bolenowe, but for a change we headed via the Greek church and secret lane, before heading West, skirting Stithians and Lanner, then through Pool.

The cafe at Tehidy is always welcoming, today with several mums and their offspring. We decided to sit outside in the sun, a bonus; Adrian, Bernie, Jim, Nigel, Simon and myself.
The conversation seemed to be centred on how to dispatch a turkey, with many suggestions, nearly all of which would have the RSPCA around, smartish. Bernie, I am sure, would appreciate more reasonable suggestions. There may even be a Turkey Twizzler in it!
The route home took most of us through the centre of Camborne and Troon, we do live dangerously, then across to 4 Lanes and Stithians Lake, after which riders went there separate ways. Bernie had split off earlier. 38 miles for me and back before 1pm.

Wheelers Cycle jumble & swapmeet
Oct 6, 2013, 3:03 pm

Search your sheds, garages, lofts, toolboxes, toilets, under your beds. Anywhere for that cycle component that you may not need, but could be just what another Wheeler wants!

Anything from a chainring to a cassette, a downtube lever to a double-clanger, or from a Galli hub to a GB stem. Old ones, new ones loved ones, neglected ones - someone will appreciate them.

At the next Wheelers’ monthly meeting Thursday, 31st October. Richard1 (Sorry no swapping of wifes/husbands or partners I'm afraid - Editor)

Richard 1 is getting very excited:

Richard would like to remind everyone of the Runs Committee Meeting at the Woodlane Club - Thursday 10th October 7.30pm.

"Can as many of you as possible try to attend this one? See you then."   R1

Flying Dutchman steals Cornish Hill
Oct 3, 2013, 3:21 pm

The inaugural hill climb took place on Cusgarne Hill on 25th September. A dozen riders tackled the 900m incline, some riding an assortment of funny bikes, as they were roared on by the crowds of supporters. Then they freewheeled down to enjoy the organic beef burgers, soup and cake served by Teresa and Greg at the farm. This was needed by some to soak up a few pints afterwards at the Cornish Arms, where there was much talk of a ladies’ team participating next year. You know you can do it girls!

Thanks to Richard 1 and Dean for helping to officiate with the complexities of the timekeeping, and to Teresa and Greg for the food.
