I have been relieved of my Wednesday grandchildren duties for a while so am hoping to join the OGIL rides. Are there any subjects that I should be swatting up on as I realise that the cake stop conversation is vital to the ride. Hoping it doesn't rain this week.

Hi to the Falmouth Wheelers, I am a long time member of the Anerley Bicycle Club which goes way back. Founded in 1881, so I am really only a new member! Last few years have been cycle touring in Europe, but this year for a change have decided that some cycling in Cornwall would make a nice change! The idea arose when I saw an item on BBC Countryfile last autumn. Went there years ago when my children were young and the programme bropught back memories. I even did a write up for our bike club web site! (see http://anerleybc.org/summer-thoughts/ ) Now that Spring is fast approaching I have now started some more detailed planning for the upcoming trip. A must is a bike ride around the Falmouth/St Mawes headslands, via the Hal ferries so we intend to base ourselves in this area. The area is very central for cycling west to St Michaels Mount, east to St Austell/Fowey, and north to the Atlantic coast. Being a long time ride leader for our bike club, I know that no one knows better the local roads than a local bike club. And just as important who know better than cyclists, where all the best tea stops are! So my request to you local cyclists is - local knowledge! Can you make some suggestions of places to visit (upto approx 30 miles from Truro), pleasant routes and nice tea stops. I expect that such routes are already in your web site "Ride Reports". Perhaps some one could be kind enough to point me in the right direction! Des.

Ref Solo's January reference to a Zimmer. Yes, there actually was a Zimmer Frame in Treliske with what looked very much like aero bars attached! The mind boggles.

Progressing slowly and hope to be back on bike after next hospital visit on 28th March. Need to buy a new helmet before that! Take care in the meantime. R1

Cheers Dean nice write up,for info we never intended to go all the way (Qh Er missus)but stick with the intermediate ride and so with Steve returned homeward at the roundabout above Marizion, but as no one was posted at station possibly as your hunger pains kicked in there was no one to report to

If you want to beg, borrow or steal any articles or our pictures (as if) we will take it as a compliment. No, really, we will.
