Join Us For A Weekend Away

A Weekend Away – Pastures New.

We’ve been talking about doing a cycling holiday in Devon for a while now. To kick things off Julian and I have decided to cycle up to the quaint village of Idderslsiegh, just north of Okehampton on the 16th of February and to stay the Saturday and Sunday nights at the Duke of York. The cosy pub offers a tasty menu and some very fine ales – and there’s plenty of accommodation at present.

The route I’ve chosen is just short of ninety miles – and at an easy pace as we’ll be carrying our kit. We intend stopping at Blisland for an early lunch, so you may want to drive up and join us here – or drive all of the way and meet us up there. A more relaxed ride around the Devon lanes is planned for the Sunday.

So there’s lots of choice if you’re interested. Ride up with us, meet is in Blisland or drive all the way and ride to meet/greet us. Stay the one night and drive home Sunday evening – for those who have to work on Monday – or stay the two nights and relax by the fire with a pint or a glass of wine and enjoy a tasty meal together. You could also drive up and back on the Sunday and just join us for the ride around the lanes – it’s about 1hr 30/45 mins from Falmouth. So, any ability and electric welcome.

Twin rooms are £90 B&B but half price the second night if you also stay the Sunday. The Duke of York tel; 01837 810253.
